Tried "waterfall climbing" in Nanayama, Karatsu City
This time we offer a waterfall climbing experience!
Waterfall climbing is one of the demonstration sports of SAGA2024. The event will be held on July 28, 2024 at Kannon falls after we depart from Karatsu City’s Nanayama Narukami Hill Sports Park. We’ll enter the river and climb up the stream for about 1.5 km while enjoying nature, swimming and walking in the clear water. After getting out of the river, we’ll hike a nature trail in the valley. Then we’ll return back, after which we’ll walk along the municipal road while taking in the views of the mountain village as we aim for our end goal.
During the first meeting for the event we had members invite their friends and acquaintances, and in the end a group of seven people from Vietnam, the Netherlands, England, America and Malaysia participated last year!
All participants were first-timers when it comes to waterfall climbing!
At first the participants seemed nervous, but as they entered the river and got in contact with the water and started climbing up the stream with a rope, their expressions naturally relaxed and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Just getting into the water calms you down!
We took a break midway to drink Nanayama’s delicious water and to eat cool sweet tomatoes!
The experience came to an end with everyone happy!
